I had to read fifty gajillon whiny posts about Steve Irwin getting killed, as if we didn't all see it coming, and not one of you has anything to say about Robert Altman's death. Robert Fucking Altman kicked off on November 20th, 2006. Robert Altman was probably the greatest director to ever live. He gave us probably the greatest movie to ever exist. Famous actors waived their usual fee just for a chance to work with him. Go look him up and educate yourselves, for fuck's sake. This is a man to mourn. Because anybody can give money to animal charities and piss off reptiles. Genius like Altman's doesn't come around every day.

I have almost got Ubuntu customized to my satisfaction. I prolly would already have it done, except that I am lazy and keep getting distracted by BOFH.

I own the most evil puzzle in all existance.

It is 504 evil pieces. 243 of them are evil illustrations of a plant or animal. 243 of them are evil facts. Did I mention that each and every piece is the exact same size and shape? Cause they are.

Once you match up all the evil pictures with the evil facts, you must put each evil pairing in the correct order by matching up the bits of picture that overlap onto other pieces.

The answer sheet is, in fact, the devil incarnate. It lies there innocently in the box, whispering in your ear, "go on, open me up, cheat, it won't hurt a bit, you know you want to", until you go insane.

Do you ever get reviews for fics that you've forgotten you even wrote? Yeah. Me too.

So, since Youji and Aya won't freaking get nekkid and have sex, I started rewatching Weiss Kreuz. Hehe, Magicbus Hospital.

Yesterday, I stumbled across the Little League World Series. Oregon v. Illinois. Oregon won, but who cares about that? They showed some of Japan's game against someone or other, since they were scheduled to play against Saudi Arabia today. I scared the crap out of Dad, squee!ing over the little munchkin Japanese baseball players. So precious. They're even wearing uniforms similar to Japan's in the World Baseball Classic, but orange and blue instead of red and blue. Obviously, I had to watch it. Japan is winning 4-1 at the bottom of the sixth. Saudi has a player, thirteen years old, 6'8", wears a size 19 shoe. Japan has a player named Naruto. Guess who I think is cooler. =P

One of the most interesting thing about it is that they've got all the umpires and even the coaches mic'ed up. So not only can you clearly hear all the calls, but you can hear the speeches the coaches give their players. Tis uber cool.

I think I've totally converted. Screw Major League, Little League's the shit. These kids are good. And so munchkin-y cute. But most importantly, they've got real sportsmanship going on. When a pitcher hits a batter, they trot over to first base to shake their hand in apology. You never see anything like that in big league baseball. The Japanese players just won and bowed to their parents to thank them. You just can't help but love these kids. I know I do.

This is such what I want to be when I grow up. Coolest job ever.

On that note, a present for zukkii. I have Yo Te Amo and Scandal alternately running through my head. But I've decided that KangTa (Vanness calls him KT during the MTV awards *snerk*) isn't that bad of a singer when the audio doesn't suck. I think I need a 'Crunky Pop' icon, cause it still makes me cry every time I hear it.

So, quote of the year (century, maybe): "My brother built a computer for me, and he wanted to know if I wanted Windows for a hundred-something dollars, or Linux for free. And I was like, Windows has spyware, why should I pay for spyware? I'll take Linux."

I bought a new computer, since the laptop is pretty much totally fried. Got Core 2 Duo, and a 250GB harddrive and a bunch of other stuff that makes me squish and makes my bank account cry for mercy. Am now very poor. But all is not lost. I found a Target giftcard my cousin got me for Christmas a year or two ago and got the restored M*A*S*H movie. Cause M*A*S*H is love.

Woohoo, cramps! That should make driving into town interesting. Particularly in a car with no CD player and no A/C. *waves flag*

1) I hate it when I leave yahoo mail on the log out screen and it randomly decides to redirect me to the yahoo main site. *grr*

2) The Astros should play that clip of Invader Zim where Zim pops the top of GIR's head and there's a beehive in it and he screams "Ah, bees!"

5) Have discovered www.ficwad.com. I am in lurve. It reminds me very much of the good old days of FFN, right down to the slow, frequently failing server connections (although, it's not nearly as bad as the Great FFN Server Failure of Whenever That Was, when I had a dial-up connection and it took ten minutes to load a page, if you were luck and it actually loaded). Yep. Lurve.

So I dug out my old Alannis Morissette CD that I swear I haven't listened to since middle school, and I'm totally disturbed that I still remember all the words.

In a sad (read: doomed to fail) attempt to, ya know, keep in touch with people now that I live out in Boony-land lest I go barking mad, I've resurfaced on lj. Or something.

Anyway, I'm planning on visiting UH - and poking at the Honors College people - sometime during the first week or two of the semester. What's a good day for me to come?

In other news, Windows is the DEVIL. Ok, so that's not actually news We're in divorce proceedings, and I'm now living in sin with the BSD daemon.
